Environmental Group

Over the past few weeks the Environmental Council Executive has been working hard with Mr Nichols so that we can address current issues as well as continue with active projects and introduce new projects effectively. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our former president has relinquished her position and our vice president, Hallie Scott, is taking over the role.

In her new role Hallie with the support of Charlette, the Communications Liaison, have been put in charge of running a new project; 10 cent recycling - with the proceeds going to St Vincent de Paul. This project has been put into effect with the trialling of two bins for the time being. The Environmental Council would like to acknowledge Bunnings for donating the bins being used. These bins have been placed on the Oval and near the Cola; our schools' main rubbish areas. For this project we would specifically like to thank some non-executive members that are helping to get this off the ground and running within the school; Lauren Barnes, Shania Coppola-Smith, and Tobias Handsaker. These three students have worked amazingly alongside Charlette and Hallie in order to make sure that this is the best it can be for our students and staff.

Along with this, we have been continuing to work with a team of students to produce a large number of plants and seeds so that we can continue our work within the gully and around the school grounds. We have 800 new bottle brush seeds that we will be utilising and preparing in the coming weeks.

We welcome any new members that wish to be a part of the Environmental Council and look forward to seeing you there every Thursday at second break in Lab 1.
