National Reconciliation Week

This past fortnight, we have acknowledged National Reconciliation Week in various ways, including a smoking ceremony, attending our weekly Cultural Studies lessons and embedding cultural connections in Literacy lessons through book studies and writing activities.

SSA Football & Netball Lightening Prem

The last day of autumn saw our year 5/6 students head off to Banyul Warri Fields to compete in the football and netball lightning prems. It was a tough ask for our football team, heading off knowing they were a few players down but the wonderful camaraderie of the SSA schools, meant that our footy team would be able to play with a full list, after the other schools offered to lend us some players for each game. Our netball team was playing in the girls competition this year and it was definitely a tough draw. I’d like to congratulate all the 5/6 students on their dedication and hard work, giving up many lunch times to train. Thanks to all our wonderful staff, who also gave up their lunch times to help with the training. To the parents, who again came out to support our teams, we thank you for your support.

On Friday the 31st of May we went to Banyul-Warri field and played SSA Footy & Netball. The netballers came 4th and the footballers won 1 game. Thank you to Elmo and Lana for supplying footy boots and jumpers and for coaching. Thank you to all the parents who visited both the footy and netball games.
