Course Selection Expo

Dear families and students,

We're excited to announce that our Annual Course Selection Expo will be held on Wednesday 29 May from 2pm until 6pm. This is an important event for our community, as it helps students (and families) choose their Northcote Model or Senior Years courses for the upcoming academic year.

Please note that on the day of the expo, students will be dismissed at lunchtime so that we can set up and deliver the event. We will be running two session times to accommodate families:

Session 1: 2pm- 3.30pm

Year level specific Information presentations will run in the school Theatre at the following times:

1. Year 10 2025 (current Yr 9s) 2:00-2:30pm

2. Year 9 2025 (current Yr 8s) 2:30-3:00pm

3. Year 11 2025 (current Yr 10s) 3:00pm-3:30pm

Session 2: 4.30pm- 6pm

Year level specific Information presentations will run in the school Theatre at the following times:

1. Year 10 2025 (current Yr 9s) 4:30-5pm (repeat session)

2. Year 9 2025 (current Yr 8s) 5-5:30pm (repeat session)

3. Year 11 2025 (current Yr 10s) 5:30pm-6pm (repeat session)

At the subject showcase, families will have the opportunity to speak with teachers about the available subjects and see examples of student work. Due to space limitations the information presentations in the Theatre are exclusively for families, where our sub-schools will provide important information about the course selection process. Students will receive this information during their Connect classes.

Please book a ticket to attend the information sessions. Please note, you do not need to book a ticket for the subject showcase which will be held in classrooms. A map of the classrooms will be provided closer to the event.

We hope to see you there!

Course selection process for 2025

The course counselling process will commence with students (Years 8-11) in week 7 of this Term.  This will result in students selecting their preferred subjects for 2025.  Over the next week the Sub-School teams will communicate the specific details of this to students through the Connect program. Families, please keep your eye on your emails as you will receive an overview and information on the course counselling process in the coming week.
