Semper Dental

Over the last couple of weeks, we have once again welcomed the team from Semper Dental to St Augustine's. One of their wonderful dentists delivered short presentations to our students in Prep - Grade 4. The children learned how important regular brushing and flossing our teeth is. They also talked aobut healthy eating habits to keep our teeth healthy.

The Semper Dental Van then arrived a few days later where children were able to have their teeth checked by a dentist.

Resilience Rights and Respectful Relationships Program

Each level will be engaging in learning in Topic Three: Positive Coping in our Resilience Rights and Respectful Relationships Program. Positive Coping learning activities provide opportunities for students to identify and discuss different types of coping strategies to support them in their emotional regulation. Positive self-talk is a concept shared in this topic if learning. It is discussed in relation to dealing with difficult situations including negative thoughts, emotions and events.

Parent Support

Additional Support

We know and understand that finding available external therapists to support your child/children can be as rare as hen’s teeth at the moment. We often receive information from various health professionals, including psychologists, occupational therapists and speech therapists. Whilst we do not necessarily engage with these providers, as a school, we would like to share this information with you, should it be of any interest or help to you.

SRC

On Thursday, our amazing SRC reps were out and about in our playground on their first shift, ready to support their peers at lunch time. This week, the team set up a number of board games for the children at St A's to enjoy! Next week, we will be getting the skipping ropes out - we can't wait to jump for joy!

If you have any items to donate to the SRC, such as colouring books, crayons/pencils, building blocks, please bring these to Emma Ramsamy or Mary Zappia via the office.

Would you like to be a helper in our school?

At St A's, we really value any additional help from members in our wonderful community. There are a number of ways you can contribute by supporting the staff and children, such as: Excursions, Athletics days, Interschool Sports, Mother's Day/Father's Day events, Cooking & Gardening sessions and so much more! If you are keen to join in, please make sure you have a current Working With Children Check
