Not all 4 seasons

Geography

In geography we have been researching Australia’s neighbouring countries. We chose a country and we did research about it to learn about it. In the first week we learnt about the cities (did you know the capital city of Singapore is Singapore!) We also looked at the country’s landmarks such as the Sky Tower in New Zealand (constructed) and NATURAL. We learnt about our country’s weather and seasons and it was interesting to find out that not all countries follow the 4 seasons like Australia, some have a monsoon and dry season. It was fun because you can learn about new countries!

Maths

We have been using Times Tables Rockstars to help us learn our multiplication and division facts. Times Tables Rockstars is a fun app where we get to practice our times tables to earn coins that we can use to edit our Rockstar avatar. We think it's a fun app and helps us a lot with our learning. If we want to see how quick we are at our times tables, we can do the Garage where we answer questions as quick as we can. We can also use Studio and Soundcheck to practice. Jamming is the easiest, you can do it and you don’t have to rush. The Gig we can do once a month to test ourselves. We like Times Tables Rock Stars because if we don’t know our times tables we start off easy and get harder. We also like that you can play with friends and race them.

Sustainability

Some of our Grade 3 students have been helping the school look its best by spending time at breaks picking up rubbish. This is such lovely way to contribute to the school community and help keep our school environment clean! Way to go!
