Student Leadership

Dear Saltwater Community,
It’s been a bustling week at Saltwater, with exciting developments across the school. As building works commence, students have been busy generating ideas for new indoor play opportunities and lunchtime clubs.
To ensure student voice is central to these changes, our Junior School Council (JSC) visited classrooms across the college to collect feedback from their peers. Stay tuned as we launch a range of student-led clubs, designed by our students, for our students.
STUDENT ACTION
Following the success of our Student Leadership Conference in Term 1, we are thrilled to share that our very own Shvani has created a short video capturing the highlights of the day, showcasing the fun, collaboration, and growth experienced by our student leaders—a huge thank you to Youth Leadership Academy Australia (YLAA) for facilitating such a valuable event.
We’re equally excited to announce that YLAA will be returning to Saltwater later this month to run a full-day workshop with our student leaders. This session will focus on building leadership capacity, fostering collaboration, and supporting students in planning meaningful action to improve our school.
We can’t wait to see what initiatives our young changemakers come up with!
ATOSS (Attitudes to School Survey)
Next week, students in Years 4 to 9 will participate in the annual Attitudes to School Survey.
This important Department of Education survey allows our students to reflect on their learning experience and provide feedback on how we’re tracking in areas such as engagement, wellbeing, and school climate.
Once the data is collected and analysed, our student leaders will play an important role in unpacking the results and using them to inform actions that make Saltwater an even better place to learn and grow.
Thank you
