PRIMARY WELLBEING:
A CLOSER LOOK
At BHCS, we believe that strong partnerships between school and home are essential to nurturing our students’ success and wellbeing. We are committed to creating open, meaningful pathways for parents to share ideas, ask questions, and express concerns—working together to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
To strengthen these connections, we recently trialled a Parent Round Table format as a way to hear directly from a diverse group of families. Two pilot sessions were held, involving 18 parents nominated by school leaders and teachers. These parents represented a broad cross-section of our primary school community and offered thoughtful, constructive feedback on topics such as communication, student readiness, and overall school experience.
Their insights have been incredibly valuable, helping us reflect on current practices and identify ways to enhance how we communicate and collaborate with families. The pilot also allowed us to refine our questions and approaches, ensuring future conversations are even more effective and inclusive.
We are now excited to open this conversation more broadly to our whole parent community.
You are warmly invited to ‘A Closer Look’, an upcoming community evening dedicated to exploring student wellbeing at BHCS. On the night, you'll hear a brief presentation on our current approaches, meet members of our wellbeing and leadership teams, and take part in an open, welcoming space to share your ideas, questions, and concerns.
“A Closer Look” will highlight the academic, social, and emotional support already in place—and more importantly, it will give us the opportunity to learn from you. Your voice truly matters. Whether you're offering feedback, celebrating what’s working well, or suggesting improvements, your input will directly shape our future planning and priorities.
For those unable to attend in person, a follow-up survey will be available to ensure every parent has the chance to contribute.
We deeply value the role parents play in making our school a strong, connected community. Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to Grow Stronger Together.
We look forward to seeing you there.
