SEEN & LOVED

BY KELLE SCOTT (ADMINISTRATION)

"When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place—what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?" Psalm 8: 3–4

Have you ever stood under a night sky and really looked up?

Those stars we see are only a glimpse of what’s out there. There are more than 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe. Our own galaxy, the Milky Way, has about 100 billion stars—and that’s just one galaxy. Google will let you know that the number of galaxies in the observable universe is estimated to be between 100 and 200 billion.

The universe stretches farther than we can imagine. Countless stars, planets, galaxies, yet, in all of that vastness… here we are.

It’s easy to think, Do I really matter in the middle of all this? Does God even know I am here?

That’s what makes Psalm 8 so powerful. David (the author of Psalms) looked at that same sky and asked the same question. He was in awe, not just of how grand creation is, but of how deeply personal God is.

He doesn’t just notice the big things. He notices you. The God who breathed stars into being knows you!

We can spend so much time trying to prove we matter—through work, relationships, achievements. But this Psalm reminds us: you mattered before you did anything.

God’s attention isn’t based on performance. His love isn’t measured by our success. He doesn’t see you as one in a crowd. He sees you as His.

You’re not overlooked. You are seen. Deeply known. Fully loved.

Rug up. Go outside. Look up.

Let the stars remind you.
