Performing Arts News

Hi Tarneit Rise families

Prep students have completed their first round of assessment and we have been very impressed! Students have demonstrated their music learning with a small singing performance. They showed that they could sing together using a loud clear singing. Well done prep!

Grade 1 and 2 enjoyed creating and performing soundscapes this fortnight. A soundscape is a composition that is like a "sound picture" of a place, made up of all the sounds you can hear there, like a mix of natural noises (wind, rain) and human-made sounds (people talking, traffic). Our grade 1 and 2’s did a wonderful job of composing, rehearsing and performing their soundscapes.

Our senior students (grades 3 to 6) are continuing on with their class compositions. Classes worked collaboratively to pick a theme and write lyrics for a chorus that fit a chosen melody and rhythm. Students are now tasked with working in small groups to write verses, before the songs will be rehearsed and performed.

See you in the Performing Arts room!
