Around the Classrooms

Prep M
In Prep M, we have been thoroughly enjoying our morning literacy block. We’ve been learning new letters and sounds, such as /h/ and /e/, and exploring tricky words by participating in a range of engaging activities that support handwriting, letter-sound recognition, and storybook-inspired craft. These hands-on tasks are helping us to build strong early literacy skills in a fun and creative way.
During Maths, we have been enjoying our exploration of shapes, with a focus on circles, triangles, squares, and rectangles. We have been learning to identify the unique features of each shape and investigate how they fit and move in space. To demonstrate our understanding, we have completed shape-matching tasks, played Shape Snakes and Ladders, and created imaginative pictures out of shapes.
In PBL, our focus has been on the school value of Respect. We have been exploring what Respect looks, sounds, and feels like in the classroom, particularly in the context of allowing everyone the right to learn. Through these lessons, we have reflected on how we best learn and deepened our understanding that showing respect means treating others the way we would like to be treated.
