Dr Justin Coulson - Online Parent Webinar
Following on from our Parent Information Evening last Year with Dr Justin Coulson we are excited to share this Free Webinar with you in collaboration with Camp Australia.
In today's digital world, children are spending more time on screens than ever - often with access to platforms that are not designed for their age or wellbeing. While legislative reform is underway, families need practical tools now.
This webinar will explore:
- How algorithms and screen time impact mental health and development
- Why real-world experiences matter more than ever
- What parents can do today to set healthy boundaries and build connection
- How to talk to kids about digital risks
- Live Q&A – a chance for parents to ask Dr Coulson their biggest questions directly
Dr Coulson is one of Australia's most trusted parenting voices, and this free session is part of our commitment to supporting families in school communities.
The Resilience Project at St John’s
Thank You for Joining Our Resilience Project Information Night!
A heartfelt thank you to all the families who attended our recent online Resilience Project information night. It was wonderful to see so many of you online to hear all about the tools and strategies that support emotional literacy, gratitude, empathy and mindfulness, the cornerstones of wellbeing. I will be working with staff over the next term to implement and further embed check-ins and mood trackers with our students.
During the session, I mentioned The Imperfects podcast — a powerful resource that aligns beautifully with the messages we’re sharing with students. The Imperfects reminds us that no one is perfect and that embracing our imperfections and being open about our struggles can help build stronger, more authentic connections. This kind of vulnerability plays a vital role in strengthening our wellbeing and self-esteem, both in children and adults.
The podcast features interviews with a wide range of inspiring guests who share real and relatable experiences. There’s even a fantastic episode about sleep with Maria Ruberto that many families have found helpful. You can visit www.theimperfects.com.au to browse episodes by topic, from anxiety and parenting, to relationships and resilience.
Thank you again for your ongoing support as we work together to foster resilience and wellbeing in our school community.

Seasons for Growth – Expression of Interest
At St John’s, we are committed to supporting the emotional wellbeing of all our students. We are offering the Seasons for Growth program in Term 3 for interested students in Years 3/4 and 5/6.
Seasons for Growth is a small group program designed to support children who have experienced significant change or loss in their lives, such as family separation, bereavement or other transitions.
The program uses age-appropriate activities and discussions to help children explore their feelings, develop resilience, and build a sense of hope and belonging.
If you believe your child may benefit from participating, or you would like to find out more, please get in touch. Expressions of interest can be sent via email or by contacting the school office. All enquiries will be treated confidentially.
We look forward to supporting our students through this valuable wellbeing initiative.
As always please do not hesitate to contact me about all things Wellbeing.
