Food Tech

Students in Prep and Year One practised using knives safely and measuring ingredients accurately to create delicious hummus, baked pita bread and fried rice. Fresh crunchy bell peppers and lemons were harvested from the garden.

In Year Two the students practised following a recipe to create herb scones and categorised the ingredients in fried rice into the five food groups. They loved practising their knife skills whilst cutting the herbs, carrots and freshly picked bell peppers.

Kitchen Garden

4B and 3A harvested herbs from the garden to create tasty herb scones.  They also made delicious pumpkin soup with pumpkin from the garden.  The honey muffins were a hit!

3C and 4A created a pumpkin and choc orange cake, baked pumpkin risotto and a delicious focaccia topped with herbs.  They topped the focaccia with thyme, rosemary and parsley.  Fresh silverbeet, lemons, sage and pumpkins were used to create the baked pumpkin risotto. Our citrus trees are in abundance of fruit, so the students loved harvesting oranges, mandarins and lemons

World Bee Day Project By Mackenzie

We loved listening to Mackenzie share her research project that she created at Guid.  They are certainly interesting insects.
