For overcoming challenges with a can-do attitude. His quiet strength and resilience to face uncomfortable feelings are a true mark of bravery. He has been so strong every morning, and we’ve noticed how hard he has tried. His courage makes our classroom a brighter place.

Harry 

For being nominated by his peers and thought of by myself as a clear winner of this week’s Community award. Harry initially found the maths problem solving challenging and needed support to get started. He then realised it wasn’t as hard as he thought, and that he was more capable. Later during the session he saw a peer struggling to understand what to do. Harry got all the required papers, sat down and explained a strategy and how to tackle the problem. He did this in a clear, empathetic and caring manner. I am so proud to see Harry supporting others and challenging himself.

For being kind, thoughtful, and shows genuine concern for his classmates’ feelings. Whether it’s helping a friend who is hurt or including someone who feels left out, Duke’s caring nature makes our classroom a warmer and more welcoming place.
