Family Time tomorrow is Clay Art

This Wednesday at Family Time, we’re cooking up some fun—without even turning on the oven! 🔥 Because we’ll be using air dry clay, not actual food… please don’t eat the art.

🎨 Get ready to whip up your favorite foods—mini pizza slices, tiny tacos, itty-bitty ice cream cones—you name it! Then turn your clay creations into fridge magnets so your refrigerator can finally live its best, most fashionable life. 💁‍♂️✨

🥕 Warning: side effects may include excessive giggling, food puns, and serious snack cravings.

So, lettuce turnip the beet 🎶 and make some egg-cellent magnets. 🍳🧲(We promise it’ll be grate! 🧀)

Westbreen Community Playgroup

Our weekly playgroup is held in the Specialist Building every Thursday morning just after the bell goes at 9:00am until 10:30am.  If it's a nice day the group often take the children outside for a play on our playground.

You don't need to have a child at Team Westbreen to attend as our Playgroup is open to all members in our local community.  So, if you have a family member, neighbour, or any friends with a baby, or child under 5, please invite them to come along to our Playgroup, everyone is welcome.

Joining a Playgroup is a great way to make new friends, for both adults and children, and to be able to share the highs, and lows, of the wonderful journey of parenthood.  You don't have to commit to attending every week, you can come along when it suits and there is not cost involved.

Our Playgroup is coordinated by Georgia Poletti Moulds, a mum of 3 boys and a member of our Team Westbreen Community for over 7 years. In this time Georgia has been really wanting to restart the Westbreen Playgroup and is excited that it has finally happened.  If you would like to know more about how it all works, please contact Georgia at georgia.poletti.moulds@gmail.com.  Alternatively, you can scan the QR code on the below flyer and Georgia will get back to you.

Volunteering at Team Westbreen

At Team Westbreen we love having our community involved in helping to enhance the learning experiences of our students.  If you are interested in listening to our students’ read, help with classroom activities when teachers need help, making resources for our teachers, assisting at Book Fair, Mother’s and/or Father’s Day stall, attending sports days and/or excursions, or volunteering at our Canteen and/or Breakfast Club.  All our volunteers need to have a current WWCC and have completed a short Volunteer Induction session.  Here is what you will need to do:

Westbreen’s Volunteer Induction session

There are 2 ways to complete this:

  • 1 on 1 with me for approximately 5 minutes to run through the program and sign off once completed
  • Contact me and I will email you the documents to read in your own time. Once done, we make time for you to sign off the program is completed.

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

You can apply for a Volunteer WWCC card through Services Victoria.  Go online:

Working with Children Check (service.vic.gov.au) and follow the prompts.

There is no cost involved in applying for a Volunteer WWCC card and it usually takes about 10-15minutes to do it online.  To ensure a smooth process make sure you have 2 of the documents below with you when you are ready to proceed:

You’ll need at least one of these:

  • Australian passport that has not expired for more than 3 years
  • Australian birth certificate that is not handwritten
  • Foreign passport linked to a valid Australian visa
  • Valid ImmiCard
  • Australian citizenship certificate

And at least one of these:

  • Australian driver licence
  • Australian driver learner permit

  • Services Victoria recommend you use your passport and driver’s licence.

If the names on your documents don’t match, you must also prove any name changes. For example, with a: Australian marriage certificate, or change of name certificate.

If you have queries regarding any of the above, please don’t hesitate to contact me as I’m happy to help in any way I can.
