Fifth Week of Easter – Love One another as I have loved you

As we journey through the Easter season, the Fifth Sunday of Easter offers a beautiful reminder of the core message of Christ: to live in love.

In this week’s Gospel (John 13:31–35), Jesus gives His disciples a new commandment:

'Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.'

These words, spoken just before His Passion, are not only a call but a challenge - to love selflessly, sacrificially, and unconditionally. This kind of love goes beyond feelings and words. It is shown in our actions, our compassion, and our willingness to serve others.

In today’s world, where many are burdened by stress, division, or loneliness, this commandment remains more relevant than ever. Whether in our families, schools, or wider community, we are invited to be signs of Christ’s love - through kindness, patience, and forgiveness.

As we continue to celebrate the joy of the Resurrection, let us remember that Easter is not only a season of joy, but also of mission.

We are called to be Easter people - rooted in love and committed to sharing it.

May this message inspire us to live more fully in the love of Christ

and bring that love to all we meet.

Blessings to you and your family this Easter season

MMG Parental data

In 2024, EREA NSW Colleges commissioned an independent, confidential 'experience' survey of all school parents, staff and students at St Pius X College as part of our commitment to continually monitor and improve the quality of education we provide to our students.

Following a thorough review of the data, the College has many reasons to celebrate. Since the beginning of 2025, we have taken meaningful steps to address key areas highlighted by staff, students, and parents. This ongoing work reflects our strong commitment to providing a high-quality educational experience for every member of our community.

New Parent Code of Conduct

Over the past year, EREA NSW Colleges, in collaboration with other EREA schools across New South Wales, has worked collectively to develop a shared Parent Code of Conduct. This initiative aims to promote respectful, supportive, and positive partnerships between families and schools within our network.

Each school has tailored the policy to reflect its unique community context, ensuring it aligns with local values and expectations.

We encourage all families to take a moment to read our school’s updated Parent Code of Conduct and join us in fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for all.

Feedback: A Key to Growth in Learning

At St Pius X College, we believe that learning is a continuous journey - and one of the most powerful tools to support that journey is feedback.

Feedback is more than just marks or comments on a page; it is an opportunity for growth. When students seek out feedback and take time to reflect on it, they gain valuable insights into their strengths and areas for improvement. It helps them to better understand how they learn and what steps they can take to progress further.

We encourage all students to be proactive in asking for feedback from their teachers - not just after assessments, but throughout the learning process. More importantly, we urge them to act on that feedback: to revise, to refine, and to apply what they’ve learned moving forward.

Responding to feedback shows resilience, commitment, and a desire to grow - qualities that not only enhance academic success but also prepare students for lifelong learning.

Let’s continue to foster a culture where feedback is welcomed, valued, and used as a springboard for improvement.

Weekend Sport Update: Rain, Travel, and Team Spirit

With a week of heavy rain behind us, we remain hopeful that our sporting fixtures will go ahead as planned this weekend. We know how much our students look forward to representing the College, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as we monitor weather conditions.

Best of luck to all our rugby teams travelling to Bathurst and Orange - we commend your dedication and sportsmanship as you represent us on the road.

Closer to home, Oxford Falls will come alive with a full day of football matches. We’re looking forward to seeing our teams in action and celebrating the spirit of competition, teamwork, and school pride.

Thank you to all staff, coaches, families, and students who make these opportunities possible. Rain or shine, your support is what keeps our teams going strong.
