2026 Parent Payments - thank you
We would like to thank those parents who have already made their 2026 parent payment after the details were sent out last week.
As outlined in the letter sent home, the payment covers all of the things that allow us to provide your child with the rich and engaging education that we are so proud of at SKiPPS.
Without the generosity of so many of our parents making this payment each year, the funding provided by the government only covers the basics and we would need to significantly cut back on the resources, materials, excursions and incursions that our students deserve.
The requested payment is broken into different parts;
Curriculum Contributions - this covers the paper, pens, pencils and books that students use each day in the classroom. It also covers all excursions and incursions that your child will participate in during the school year.
Other Contributions - this payment covers the costs of providing a qualified first aid officer to run our sick bay, deal with medical incidents, student illnesses and accidents and also manage the action plans for our students with medical issues. This payment also includes a contribution to grounds and building maintenance.
- Tax- Deductible contributions - this payment is a donation to our Library Fund to ensure our school library and classrooms are well stocked, inviting collections of rich literature and our Building Fund to allow us to complete upgrades and improvements to our classrooms such as the recent construction of walls to separate classrooms and recarpeting, replastering and repainting.
If you are yet to make your 2026 parent payment, we would appreciate your support with this as soon as possible. The easiest way to do this is via Compass - please click on the below icon from your homepage
Please contact the School Office if you are unable to make payment via Compass.
Parents' Association Meeting - all parents invited!
SKiPPA (the St Kilda Park Parents' Association) are the wonderful and fun group of parents who do so much to make our school the busy, welcoming and community-oriented place that it is.
Throughout the year they run events, activities and initiatives to help build community. This includes Jazz in the Park, Mothers and Fathers Day events, Winter Solstice, Harmony Day, Sushi, Soup and Pasta lunch orders & Foundation and Year 6 tea towels.
They are also always keen to hear ideas for new events and activities.
They are holding their first formal meeting of the year this Thursday (19th February) at 6pm at the St Kilda Bowls Club (just next door to school). All parents are invited to come along, make some new connections and get involved with this great group of people.
They will be meeting up on the petanque court (right on Fitzroy Street). Kids are welcome and SKiPPA will be shouting pizza for all attendees.
School Photo Day - Friday 27th February
Our 2026 School Photo Day will take place on Friday 27 February.
All photo orders must be completed in advance through Compass. Families should have received communication directly from MSP Photography this week with instructions on how to book and pay.
You can also access the link to order photos via your Compass portal landing page.
Please ensure orders are placed prior to photo day so that students can be photographed as part of their class and any sibling photos can be organised.
New Guitar Teacher at SKiPPS
We are excited to share that we have found a new guitar tutor to run lessons at the school.
Bojan is a current school parent and has worked as a private and instrumental music teacher in schools for over 10 years.
He is also a VIT registered and works as a CRT in Primary schools when he is not teaching guitar.
Any parents who are keen for their child to have guitar lessons at school can contact Bojan directly on 0421 573 743 or via bojan.stojanov27@gmail.com
Found Scooter
This week we were contacted by a SKiPPS family who accidently took home the wrong scooter at the end of last year. If your child's scooter 'went missing' from the bike racks in December, please contact the school office.
