We can’t believe we are already at Week 4! It has been a fantastic start to the term, and students are now well and truly settling into classroom routines. It has been wonderful to see growing confidence, positive attitudes, and a strong sense of community across the school.
This week, students have been diving deeper into their learning across all subject areas.
In Literacy, classes have focused on students' enjoyment of books through Shared Reading while building comprehension and exploring new vocabulary. Students are presented with visual supports using our PODD Communication books during these sessions to maximise their understanding and engagement with the books.
On Wednesday this week we had a whole day visit from Helen Tainsh who is a Speech Pathologist and Literacy consultant. Helen visited classrooms to observe and model for classroom staff and then provided a whole staff Literacy Professional Learning session at the end of the day. These sessions are very engaging and provide staff with opportunities to practise the use of the PODD (and other communication systems) to best support our students with their learning.

We are proud of the way students are demonstrating our school values each day. From showing care and sharing in the playground to persisting with tasks in the classroom, their efforts are commendable.
Attendance continues to be a focus, and we thank families for supporting regular attendance and punctuality. Every day at school truly makes a difference to your child's learning.

Don't forget you can use Compass to record your child's absence and reasons if they are away from school. When students are away from school without explanation you should receive a message via Compass about their absence. Please contact your child's classroom teacher or the front office to provide reasons for the absence so that the correct absence codes can be used. For your information, there are different absence codes used for when students are unwell, attending a medical or therapy appointment, attending an off site excursion or special cultural event and many others, including when students are absent without explanation. It is important that your child's attendance is recorded accurately. Good school attendance supports your child to achieve their learning goals.

Thank you to all families for your continued support. We are looking forward to another positive and productive week ahead!
