Vale - Peter Arnold

Peter brought so much more to our Kyabram schools than his obvious musical talent and gift for teaching. He shared with every person he worked alongside a deep commitment to young people wanting to learn music and a wealth of life experience, always offered with genuine care.

Through Peter, students were given the opportunity to learn from an expert — to understand how their instrument worked and how to contribute as part of a band. This included skills that extended far beyond music. Peter also helped young people develop important life values such as persistence, teamwork and respect. As adults working with Peter we always felt his calm support, mastery and encouragement in our music projects; he always 'had our backs' and lent a hand wherever he could. Peter led and participated in bands for many school musicals, concerts and competitions showing great patience and bringing together some terrific results for our school events for more than thirty years.

Many Kyabram families, including my own, and school staff will feel the profound loss of a wonderful teacher and a true friend.
