Monday 9 March - Labour Day public holiday

Wednesday 11th March - School Photo Day - full Summer uniform

Dear St Michael’s School families,

Prayer

Loving God,

As we journey through this second week of Lent,

open our hearts to your gentle guidance.

Help us to listen more carefully, speak more kindly, and act with compassion in all we do.

Teach us to notice those who need a smile, a helping hand, or a word of encouragement.

May our choices this week reflect the love Jesus showed to others.

Strengthen our school community so that we grow in kindness, fairness, and forgiveness.

Walk with us each day, and help us become people of hope and light.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

NAPLAN TESTING

NAPLAN tests for Years Three and Five students commence next Wednesday. Different tests occur on different days and range from 40 - 50 minutes in duration. We ask that you please ensure ALL children are on time to school in the coming weeks as later arrivals can also disturb students being tested. Students require their laptop, fully charged and working headphones (not bluetooth). Our technician will be onsite this Friday to check devices and headphones are in working order.

Please see the schedule for NAPLAN below:

Wednesday 11th March:    Writing Year 3 and 5 - 9.30AM

Thursday 12th March:        Reading Year 3 - 9.30AM

PARENT / TEACHER SNAPSHOT CONVERSATIONS

We hope that last evening's Snapshot Conversations with your child's class teacher gave you insight into some of the early Literacy and Numeracy data collected by the class teacher. I remind parents that this data presented is simply a "snapshot" and will help identify areas on which the teacher will build to continue your child's learning journey. Please continue to make contact with your child's class teacher with any inquiries you have about their learning throughout the year.

DIVISION SWIMMING - WELL DONE EDWARD & JORDAN

Congratulations to Edward Betros and Jordan Petrowski who competed at the Division Swimming Carnival yesterday. They represented St Michael's School and did so valiantly! Jordan took part in Backstroke and Edward placed fourth in freestyle and fourth in breaststroke, scraping in closely to nearly achieve equal second place. What a nail biter!!

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn, play, pray, work and gather.

We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and we honour the ongoing cultural, spiritual and educational contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
