Chloe Huang
Hello, my name is Chloe Huang and I'm absolutely excited to join Brinbeal Secondary College as a Mathematics teacher! I completed my Master of Teaching at Monash University, following my undergraduate degree from the University of Melbourne. My experiences in the UK, Australian, and Chinese educational systems have equipped me to bring a unique global perspective to an inclusive mathematics classroom. I can't wait to share all my ideas and knowledge with you all and contribute to building the foundation of an outstanding school community together!
Kaanchana Pothapragada
Hello lovelies, I am Kaanchana and I am thrilled to be a member of the Brinbeal Secondary community as a passionate Science Teacher! I am a dedicated educator who fosters a love for discovery by translating complex scientific concepts into engaging, hands-on experiences, so make sure to look out for fun experiments and stories which help making learning relatable! In my spare time the social bird within me seeks to find peace in catching up with friends over a lovely dinner or binge watch a thriller series. I also enjoy dancing and listening to music as an escape.
Frances Ness
Hi, my name is Frances and I’m excited to be teaching English at Brinbeal Secondary College in 2026.I’ve been teaching for 10 years in the Wyndham area. I love teaching English and building a love for reading and writing. When I’m not in the classroom, you can find me behind my sewing machine, in the garden or out hiking. I look forward to meeting all the students, families, and staff at Brinbeal Secondary College.
Nic Creighton
Hi, my name is Nic and I am super excited to be joining the Health & Physical Education team and broader Brinbeal Secondary College community next year! I have recently completed my teaching studies at The University of Queensland and have moved down to Victoria to be closer with family and take on a new opportunity at the college.
I am passionate about AFL and support the Sydney Swans. On the weekends I enjoy footy and am excited to start playing in the Geelong Football League this coming year.
I am looking forward to meeting the students and families at the college as I begin my teaching career.
Jordan Allen
Hi, my name is Jordan, and I am beyond thrilled to be apart of the family and community that is Brinbeal Secondary school. I graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Education P-12 specializing in the fields of Physical Education and Mathematics. I am committed to providing enriching and nurturing learning experiences in Physical Education and would love to build the strength of the community through fun and engaging sport. Beyond the classroom my passion is sports and I love playing basketball and AFL, with the favourite team being the mighty Richmond Tigers! I am so excited to meeting you all and look forward to having an amazing and fun year together!
Meena Berry
Hello, I am Meena Berry and I am delighted to join Brinbeal Secondary College as an English and Humanities teacher. I’ve spent more than a decade teaching, most recently at Saltwater P-9 College and Good News Lutheran College. Throughout my career, I’ve taught a wide range of year levels, led departments, supported curriculum development, and mentored students to help build their confidence and engagement in learning. I am currently working with the famous instructional Coach and teacher, Trevor Mackenzie’s variety of questioning techniques to strengthen student engagement and help establish a consistent questioning routine in the classroom. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Arts, Master in English and a Master of Teaching specialising in English and Humanities. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, connecting with community, spending time with family and staying active and fit. I am really looking forward to meeting the staff, students and families at Brinbeal Secondary College.
Haleem Unnisa
Hello, my name is Haleem Unnisa, and I am excited to be a Science teacher at Brinbeal Secondary College. I have completed my Masters in Secondary Teaching from Deakin University, which has strengthened my analytical and reflective approach to education. Throughout my teaching journey, I have developed and applied a range of evidence-based teaching strategies that promote engagement, inclusion, and deep understanding of scientific concepts. I am particularly committed to support diverse learners and foster curiosity through inquiry-based learning that connects classroom concepts to real-world contexts. Outside the classroom, I enjoy rose gardening, exploring nature, and trying out new recipes. I look forward to contributing to the Brinbeal community, connecting with staff and families, and inspiring students to discover the joy of scientific inquiry.
Luke Stafford
Hello, my name is Luke Stafford and I’m excited to join the Brinbeal Secondary College community in 2026 as a Math’s, Health, and Physical Education teacher. I graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education with a third method of mathematics, which has given me new experiences about how to make the time at school an enjoyable and memorable one. During my time away from the classroom, I enjoy competing in swimming and spending time with my friends during the holidays. I look forward to meeting you all and hope to have a fun year ahead.
Madhavie Amarasinghe
Drawing on a rich and diverse 25-year career across education, wellbeing, corporate finance, and international project leadership, Madhavie Amarasinghe is a dynamic and forward-thinking educator committed to fostering student engagement, inclusion, and academic excellence. As an experienced educator for VCE, and long-serving Coordinator at Keilor Downs College, she has demonstrated expertise in strengthening student wellbeing, enhancing curriculum design, and leading staff through meaningful professional growth. Her practice is grounded in humanistic, inquiry-based learning and the belief that every student deserves equitable, personalised support that nurtures both academic success and social-emotional development.
James Carman
Hi, I’m James Carman and I will be starting as a Humanities teacher in 2026. I look forward to joining this community, bringing a history of working with students across Melbourne, including in an Islamic College. I hope to be able to spark interest in the ideas and skills of Humanities. At home I take care of my two cats, Nova and Astro, who are always very helpful with preparing my classes and marking my work and never get in the way. I hope to have a great 2026 and more to come.

Sweta Khosla
Hello everyone! My name is Sweta Khosla, and I am very excited to be your teacher in 2026. I have been teaching Mathematics and Science for over five years, and I believe every student can excel when they are encouraged to think critically and explore ideas in depth. I take great pride in helping students unpack challenging ideas and build the confidence to think independently and critically. My lessons focus on inquiry-based learning, critical thinking routines, and collaborative activities that make my classroom both engaging and enjoyable. I aim to create a space where students feel confident to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and learn from one another. I cannot wait to get to know you and help you build strong thinking skills, curiosity, and confidence.
Tasya Nughoro
Hi, my name is Tasya Nugroho, and I am excited to be joining Brinbeal Secondary College in 2026 as a Food Technology teacher. I graduated from Deakin University with a degree in Nutrition Science, majoring in Food Innovation. Having grown up in Indonesia and later continued my education in Australia, I gained very different learning experiences, which is what motivates me to build classrooms where students feel valued, supported, and inspired to develop a love of learning. Outside of teaching, you will probably find me exploring Melbourne’s amazing food scene. I am always on the hunt for great cafes and restaurants. I am also currently involved in a food research project at Deakin that explores UHT milk processing, which has been a fun way to keep learning in the food space. I look forward to joining the Brinbeal community and seeing you all very soon!
Katherine Bowman
Hi, I’m Katherine, and I’m excited to be joining Brinbeal in 2026! Before training as a teacher, I worked for many years in media and corporate affairs. I feel privileged to bring that experience into the classroom, supporting students to grow their confidence in critical thinking, creativity, and kindness. Outside of school, I live on a small farm with my husband and a lively mix of animals. In my spare time, you will usually find me in my pottery studio or out in the garden. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone and becoming part of the Brinbeal community.

Hi everyone, I’m Lingyi Zhang, Performing Arts Teacher. I recently completed my Master of Secondary Teaching at Monash University, with a focus on Drama & Media. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence, imagination and communication skills through performance and creative storytelling. In my personal life, I enjoy music and the arts. I play piano and guitar, and I love theatre, film and anything that sparks creativity. I’m really looking forward to joining the Brinbeal community and working with our students in 2026.

Hi, I’m Lori and I will be joining Brinbeal Secondary College as a Food Technology Assistant in 2026. I have been a Cake Decorator for the last 10+ years and am excited to be changing to a new type of kitchen environment. Outside of work, my 4 beautiful girls are my world. I love going to the gym, the Richmond Tigers and Melbourne Vixens. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I specialise in History, Geography, and Politics, and I believe in teaching a holistic humanities education. Hello, my name is Anushka and I am delighted to be joining Brinbeal Secondary College as a Science and Mathematics teacher next year. I come from a strong academic background, having completed a Master’s degree and PhD in the field of Food Chemistry, and I am passionate about sharing my love of science with young learners. I am committed to creating engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning experiences where every student can explore ideas, ask questions, and build confidence in their understanding. Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family and travelling the world whenever I get the chance.
