At All Saints’ College, we are committed to empowering young people to take ownership of their learning journey. One of the most powerful tools in this process is the feedback loop: the ability to generate, interpret and act on feedback to improve performance.
Feedback is not just something students receive. Feedback should be actively sought, reflected on and used in future work. When students are taught how to identify what they are doing well and where they can grow, they begin to see learning as a process rather than a product. This mindset shift builds resilience, encourages curiosity and fosters a deeper engagement with learning.
Our teachers are creating opportunities for students to give and receive feedback in meaningful ways. Whether through peer review, self-assessment or teacher conferencing, students are learning to ask, “What am I aiming for?”, “Where am I now?” and “What’s my next step?”
Parents can support this at home by encouraging reflective conversations. Questions such as “What feedback did you get today?” or “What will you try differently next time?” can help students internalise feedback and take action.
By embedding feedback loops into everyday learning, we are equipping students with the tools to become self-directed learners.
Year 11 Examinations commence on Monday 10 November. Students and families are reminded that the morning sessions commence at 8.30am and the afternoon sessions commence at 1.00pm. Students are expected to be at the examination venue (at the front of L Block) at least 20 minutes prior to the examination start time. The examination timetable is now available here on MyASC.
Whilst students are on study break for exams, all are welcome to use Nexus-S as a study facility. Students are asked to ensure that they are dressed in College uniform and follow the normal grooming guidelines whilst on Campus. Students must sign in and out of Nexus-S during this period so that the College has a record of who is on site. During this time, students in Year 11 and 12 may arrive and depart as required.
Curtin University is again running the Innovative Schools Scholars Program, relaunched as the Rising Scholar Program (RSP), commencing in Semester 1 2026.
The RSP offers students tertiary learning experience at Curtin University while still in high school, allowing them to earn University credit. Students will engage with staff and students through any of the available delivery modes of the University (on-campus, blended learning, or online). Outstanding Year 10, 11 or 12 students will be considered for one unit per semester, and students may complete up to four units over the course of the program. Students will be granted a full fee sponsorship for the cost of the units (some unit resource costs may apply). Units available to study include Business & Law, Humanities, Health Sciences and Science & Engineering.
Successful completion of units through the program may be credited towards an undergraduate degree; however, students will need to seek eligibility regarding CRL. Students will receive a Curtin University Certificate upon successful completion of an RSP unit.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Students should take into account the additional workload associated with these courses and note that changes cannot be made to the ASC timetable to accommodate this. For more information or to find out how to apply, please visit MyASC - Rising Scholar Program
