A message from Denis!

 Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

A short note this evening, as the family and I have just returned from our trip to Japan yesterday evening.  We had a wonderful time exploring Japanese culture, food, traditions and of course the amazing theme parks and activities.

It was an unforgettable family trip, the first one overseas with both Hendrix and Zadie and one we will savour forever.

Highlights of the trip were many and include Disney Land (The Beauty and the Beast ride showcased amazing Japanese technology and engineering), Kyoto's world heritage listed temples and gardens, the bowing deers and beauty of Nara (yes, they actually bow to you before you feed them, and you bow back), Universal Studios (Nintendo World was amazing) and cooking Yakiniku with Hendrix (Japanese BBQ); the wagyu was delicious.

I'd like to thank Olivia for her leadership, Gen, Nicola, Daniela and Laura for helping to lead the school while I was away.  A special thank you to all of our staff who supported and took on extra duties to help out the Leadership Team.

Today we welcomed our 2026 Foundation students for their first Orientation session.  The students had a great session and we look forward to welcoming them and our 2026 Foundation families back next week.

We have a great month ahead of us and a terrific end to the 2025 school year at St Mary's awaits.

Stay safe, stay healthy, stay connected,

Denis Johnstone
