Staffing

Just a reminder to everyone that Christine has commenced her leave this week. She will be returning on Tuesday 2nd of December and is looking forward to catching up with students and families at our Show Case and Shine evening on Wednesday 3rd of December. During the time Christine is away, I will be Acting Principal and Lauren Shannon is supporting as Acting Assistant Principal. Please let us know if there is anything we can help you with during this time.

We are currently working on our staffing for 2026 and class student groups. We will share via the newsletter once we have allocated the teachers for each section and classroom.

Christmas Raffle

It's that time of year again! Our Christmas Raffle is starting very soon and raffle tickets will be sent home with your child next week. The raffle will be drawn on our Show Case and Shine evening. There are lots of wonderful Christmas raffle prizes. All money raised will go towards upgrading our sensory garden for all students to use. A huge thank you to Leanne Gordon for her work this year and for many years in preparing our beautiful raffle prizes.

Respectful Relationships

This week all staff at Croydon SDS undertook an important Professional Learning session about the Respectful Relationships Framework which is implemented in all Government Schools. The session was presented by Sam our Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader, Philippa, one of our Speech Pathologists and Meg from the Department of Education regional Respectful Relationships team.  This program was developed following the 2016 Royal Commission into Family Violence and is designed for students from Foundation to Year 12. The Respectful Relationships framework is the holistic, whole-school approach to the school-based, primary preventionof family and gender-based violence.

In other words, the framework is designed to teach and support our students to keep themselves and others safe.

At Croydon SDS some of the important foundational supports we have in place for our students include our Stop Go Tell tool, our Schoolwide Positive Behaviour Support Framework and the use of a range of communication supports to promote each student having a voice and the ability to express their thoughts, feelings and concerns.
