Welcome to Week 4!

We had a fabulous week last week with lots of exciting events.  On Friday, we held a fundraiser for the Year 6 gift, raising $128.35. We had lots of fun dressing up and showing off our costumes.  Please check our Facebook page for more photos.

We also had a visit from a celebrity!!  Everyone was so excited for Costa's visit.  He loved our nature area and the garden programs we have running at the school and gave us a big green thumbs up as well as some exciting ideas for our space.

Kindergarten and Whole School Transition Day

On Tuesday we held our first 2026 Kindergarten and move up transition day.  We cannot wait to welcome our new kindergarten students and loved seeing them enjoy their time learning all about "Big School". Our students in Kindergarten 2025 through to year 6 also enjoyed venturing into a different classroom. This is to give students an opportunity to get used to the idea of potentially being in a different space.  This is no indication of what classroom they will be in or what teachers they will have next year.

DISCO

Year 6 will be holding another fundraiser on Thursday 13 November in the form of an in-school disco. They wanted to do this for the kids who don't get to come to disco's because of busy lives or distance to travel back to school after school. The cost of the disco is the usual $5 which gets students a packet of chips and a drink.  This can be paid in cash as students enter the hall.  Students will just wear their usual uniform.

You Can Do It!

To begin, end and throughout the day, we can all remind our students and our children how to be confident, persistent, organised, to get along, and resilient.

Helping develop in your children a You Can Do It! ‘mindset’ can occur at the beginning of each day or at the end of the day. Through these daily reminders, children will become more aware of what they have previously learnt about what to say to themselves (self-talk - “I can keep trying when things are hard.” “I know if I try hard, I can do it.” “The more I try, the better I get”) and do throughout the day.

We are definitely immersed in lots of exciting opportunities!!  We continue to learn sign language to help support our learning at school.  Thank you to Mrs Shing-Kelly for sharing her knowledge with us and teaching us sign language that supports our PAX words of the week.  Our word this fortnight has been immerse and 'involved' is the closest word with a sign that we have been taught this week. Ask your child what other signs they know!!

Keep your eye on our What's Happening notifications and the school Facebook page for everything MGPS!!  A gentle reminder about dropping your children to school early in the morning. Supervision is provided from 8:30am. Have a wonderful week!
