Bouncing Back – Building Resilience
At Highton Primary, we’ve been talking about what it means to bounce back when things don’t go our way. Resilience is the ability to keep trying, stay positive, and learn from challenges. Whether it’s a tricky maths problem, a friendship hiccup, or missing out on something we hoped for, we’re encouraging our students to remember that every setback is a chance to grow.
Our classrooms have been exploring ways to build resilience through positive self-talk, teamwork, and problem-solving. We’re reminding students that it’s okay to make mistakes — that’s how learning happens!
You can help at home by praising your child’s effort rather than just results and talking about how you handle challenges in your own life. Together, we can help every Highton student develop the confidence and courage to bounce back stronger than ever.
