The Pius Aussie Bird Count 2025

Last week, Ms Ramsey and I teamed up with a group of enthusiastic student citizen-scientists to take part in the Aussie Bird Count, Australia’s largest citizen-science event. Together, we observed and recorded the birdlife in our school playground, contributing valuable data to this nationwide survey.

Over the week our regular feathered visitors included:

  • Rock Dove (Feral Pigeon)

  • Noisy Miner

  • Australian Magpie

  • Welcome Swallow

  • Rainbow Lorikeet

We were thrilled by the participation of our budding ornithologists, whose keen eyes and impressive bird identification skills made our College’s first count a great success.
