Message from the Principal
St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.
I hope you all enjoyed a long weekend and found some time to relax and enjoy family.
I was fortunate to be able to travel to Perth to catch up with my family and enjoy time with my mum and dad.
We have had so much happening at school and preparing for so much more!
We celebrated a fantastica giornata Italiana last week. Students showcased some of their learnings by sharing songs they have learnt, followed by class activities learning more about Italian culture.
We held our inaugural 'Waiters race'- staff and our Student Representative Council (SRC) transported a cup of water without spilling a drop!
And what is giornata Italiano without pizza e gelati!
Much fun was had by all!
Grazie Signora Sab for planning such a fantistica giornata and to all staff for your enthusiastic participation.

What a colourful and fun day it was when we celebrated Diwali. Thank you to those parents and granpdarents who helped lead a variety of experiences for our students. Thank you also to Sienna and Ananya (past students) who returned to share their dancing with our community.
The day concluded with a beautiful prayer service where we were reminded that, as a Catholic school community celebrating Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, light always triumphs over darkness, and goodness over evil. Though Diwali comes from the Hindu tradition, its message speaks to all people of faith — including Christians — reminding us to live with hope, kindness, and love.
Thank you to Ms Devisser for coordinating a wonderful celebration.

On the 22nd October, we saw Musica Viva’s show El Camino come to St Peter’s and perform their Music from the Andes mountain range. We learned about the Charango, a Spanish Ukulele which has ten strings instead of 4. We also sang and danced along as the performers played their other traditional instruments, in particular their pan pipes. As the music had a spanish theme, we learned about the rhythms of the salsa dance in class in preparation for the performance. On the whole it was a really enjoyable concert!

I thank Ravi (Tasvin Yr6) for his participation on the SAC but as the family leave St Peter's at the end of the year we have an opportunity for another parent to join us. Please read the page in the newsletter as we are eager for another parent to join our SAC. Email me to put in an expression of interest or to seek further information.
Congratulations to Reji for his participation in the City of Monash Open Gardens for 2025. His garden at 75 Moriah St Clayton is open this Saturday from 10am-4pm for all to view. As Reji says "More than the garden it will be a treasure hunt for St. Peters’ families because you may find many things you have thrown out in my garden."
