Personal Hygiene Talks

We had a visit from staff from Healthwise New England recently where students were

given advice on how to clean their teeth and the importance of healthy eating.  We were all amazed at how much sugar is contained in soft drinks!

Thank you to the staff from Healthwise New England for providing such an enriching and informative program.

Small Schools Cross Country Carnival

What a perfect day we had for our cross country carnival last term, thank you to all of our students who competed and tried their absolute best and congratulations to our trophy winners.

We thank all parents who came along and encouraged their children during their events and those who helped our P&C with the canteen.

Guest Author and Illustrator - Cheryl Orsini

We were fortunate to have a visit from a Sydney based author and illustrator, Cheryl Orsini last week. Cheryl spoke with our students about how she comes up with her ideas and how she is able to translate these into small books and illustrations to publish.  Students were also given a chance to use her techniques and skills to create their own illustrations.

Art with Mrs Schaeffer

Our art program continues to flourish with Mrs Schaeffer's lessons every fortnight. Currently students are focusing on the artist, John Olsen who creates landscapes.

Upper Division students have been focusing on colour and organic lines to capture a radiant sun in their own works.  They used water colours, acrylic paints and string.

UNE Discovery Visit

The school was visited by the team from UNE Discovery and both Upper and Lower Division were able to learn about and participate in some great activities on the topics of Creative Chemistry and Palaeontology Puzzles.

Our thanks to the team from UNE -  the students had a great time and learned a lot from the visit.
