Student Leadership Update

An update from Hamish, Damo, Lily and Aya.

Welcome to our School Captain's Report!

Last Wednesday, the school captains went to North Geelong Secondary School to have breakfast with other leaders from other schools. We also got the chance to talk to an Aboriginal artist, Aretha Brown. There we also did a Lego competition, we sadly didn't win but we tried our very best. We all had an amazing experience and we look forward to upcoming events.

On Wednesday Hamish and Damian went to Lightning Prem for football and soccer. Hamish did footy and Damian did soccer, the footy team won one game defeating Herne Hill primary and the soccer team had 3 wins and 2 draws, unfortunately, none of the Newtown footy and soccer teams made it to the second round.

On the 24th of April, last Wednesday, we had an Anzac memorial assembly where the four school captains and Mr Barclay hosted it. During the assembly, we read some ANZAC poems and we had a beautiful wreath that Sloane’s mum made. Everyone paid their respects and listened attentively.

Here is an update regarding our legacy project; the chicken coop. As of now, we are still in the middle of planning. We are going to make a chicken coop. We will get 4 chickens and have a raffle for the names. On Friday someone will be coming to look at the progress we made. We will put the chicken coop in the veggie gardens with a cage.
