Wominjeka to OSHC

Coordinator: Alexis Simmonds and Assistant Coordinator: Sarah Emerson

We acknowledge the first peoples of the Kulin Nation,Their Dreaming of the past , present and future. We pay our respect for their land by looking after the land we learn and play on.

OSHC is back and running for Term 2 after a relaxing holiday break. Students have hit the ground running and had educators busy organising games and activities to fill the sessions with fun.

Soccer and footy is a staple and cricket and tennis has become more popular. We’ve been utilising the playground while we still have some nice weather, which students have thoroughly enjoyed.

At the end of Term 1 we had a large PE parachute donated to us and Tuesday afternoon educators brought it out to see how it would be received. Safe to say it was a HUGE hit with students across all year levels. While some students were keen to be on the edge creating the movement, others were excited to be underneath it watching from below. We will be looking up some new games to try in the next couple weeks as we think it will be a regular activity.

At Before Care the breakfast table has been buzzing with chat about holidays and school activities. Cheese toasties, baked beans and warm milks have been a favourite amongst educators and students alike. More activities inside like board games and craft have been more sought after as the weather gets cooler but there is always a group outside braving the chillier conditions.

Our birthday wall is being updated and shortly the leaves on our OSHC family tree will fall and regrow with all our old faces and the new ones who have joined us. Wendy has been giving our garden beds a much needed cleanout. We're excited to be able to plant some new plants that we can use in our cooking and offer to our families.

See you in Week 2!
