Principal's News

Updates from Miss Maree

I truly cannot believe we are beginning Week Six of Term Two this week - where has the time gone? As I read through each of the classes Learning News, Wellbeing  and Cooking pages of the newsletter I am constantly reminded of the amazing opportunities and activities that our students are given both by their teachers/staff in and out of the classrooms and also with other schools and the wider community. If you only read some of the newsletter - make sure you read these! The work our staff are doing is above and beyond - we are so lucky to have them.  A gentle reminder to try to avoid contacting staff outside of school hours, except for urgent matters. If you do need to do so please use their school email. Respecting their privacy and family time is important.

It's been wonderful lately to see so many of our children teaching parents and grandparents to use the service road crossing before and after school to get to their parked cars. Good habits like this will keep everyone safe. A big 'shout out' to Amara in Foundation and Dad Jaypee for being caught doing the right thing. Who will be next I wonder?

A number of jumpers have been found lately without names on them. To keep uniforms from being lost please ensure you clearly label your child's clothing.

A reminder that school supervision begins at 8.30. Teachers use the time prior to that to get their classrooms ready and to prepare for the day's learning. As a safety measure students will be asked to wait near the brown seats until 8.30 for the staff member on duty before moving off to play.

Congratulations to our five fabulous students who competed last Friday at District Cross Country. Everyone did their best and came away from the day proud of their efforts.

Sebastian came 3rd in the 11 year old age group and has qualified for the next level. Hunter came 5th in 10 and under and also qualified for Division. Connor, Morgan and Casey all ran beautifully either beating their time or place from the previous year's race.

Have a wonderful week everyone.

Take care and stay safe,

Maree
