National Families Week
National Families Week 2024 is just around the corner! This year it will be held from the 13th-19th May, and to coincide with the United Nations International Day of Families on 15th May. This year holds particular significance as it commemorates the 30th Anniversary of the International Year of Families.
Celebrating Family Diversity & Connections is the theme for National Families Week 2024.
The theme for 2024 ‘Celebrating Family Diversity & Connections’ that involves recognising and embracing the unique circumstances, backgrounds, and dynamics that make each family special. This celebration fosters an inclusive environment, where meaningful connections within diverse families promote mutual appreciation and shared learning. Ultimately, the acknowledgment and acceptance of diverse family experiences contribute to the resilience and vibrancy of community networks.
The Week is a time to celebrate and reflect on the strengths and significance of families, make contact with extended family and friends, and share in the enjoyment of family activities within the wider community. It is a time to celebrate the meaning of family and to make the most of family life – no matter what form your family takes.
