Level 1

Level 1

Literacy

The level 1 students have enjoyed diving into writing their own Narrative Stories this week. Our focus has been on developing Bold Beginnings that aim to hook our readers. Students have enjoyed starting their stories with Onomatopoeia which is a sound like Crash! Bang!

We have been learning all about Synonyms – words that have the same meaning. Students had an opportunity to roam the room to add a range of different words to the posters.

 Maths

1CR enjoyed collaborating with 1RK in an open-ended maths lesson this week, where they were able to work together to solve a range of worded problems. They showed great reasoning, and speaking and listening skills as they worked in small groups.

Inquiry

We have been busy exploring and learning all about the different community helpers that work to keep us safe. Students read a variety of different books on ‘Epic!’ to learn more about these jobs and what they look like in action!
