Principals Message

Welcome to Term 2.

Congratulations to Year 7 for completing their first term of secondary education and to Stage 6 for their completion of the Preliminary HSC. Stage 6 students will not begin their HSC courses and progress towards their final examinations in Term 4.

Thank you to all the students and staff who participated in the Anzac march during the holidays. School Captains Madeline Fraser and Tahlia Gilbert gave a heartfelt speech at the ceremony reflecting on the sacrifice that soldiers made for all Australians. Vice-Captains Zoe Hutchison and Harvey Odgers were flag raisers for the ceremony at the Memorial Gardens. Students also participated in the Grong Grong morning Anzac Day Service. Students and staff represented Narrandera High School with pride on this important day.

Students need to ensure that they are organised for school with all their necessary equipment for learning which includes:

  • School exercise books: These are essential for organising class notes, handouts, and assignments. They help students keep track of important information, have revision notes before examinations and stay organised throughout the school year.
  • Pens, Pencils, and Highlighters: Writing utensils are necessary for taking notes, completing assignments, and participating in class activities. Highlighters are useful for emphasising key points on work sheets, revision notes and class work.
  • A Scientific Calculator: For mathematics and science classes, a calculator is often required for completing calculations and solving problems. The school preferred calculator can be purchased from the front office.
  • Water Bottle and food: Staying hydrated and fuelled throughout the school day is important for maintaining energy and focus. A reusable water bottle and nutritious snacks and lunch can help students stay refreshed and avoid distractions caused by hunger or thirst.
  • Backpack or School Bag: A sturdy backpack or bag is necessary for carrying books, notebooks, and other school supplies between classes and help students to stay organised with all their equipment for learning.

Student assistance is available for families experience financial difficulties. Families can contact their student’s year advisor, the deputy principal, Head Teacher Wellbeing or Aboriginal Education Officers if they need support for any school equipment, uniform or assistance for students to attend excursions.
