Miss Marks' Message

Hello everyone!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and messages this past week. I have been excited to meet so many people in our school community and began yesterday at the school gates, then visited classrooms to meet our students. While visiting the classrooms, I invited students to chat with me during break times and I was quickly inundated yesterday with students telling me exciting stories about their weekend. I heard about birthday parties, visits to Horsham and Thredbo, and some excited but also some disappointed footy fans!

While visiting classrooms of a morning, I have been impressed with the seamless transitions students have made to be ready for the morning message and their learning.

Throughout last week, I was in contact with Mr Lindsay to learn more about Teesdale Primary School. I am very grateful to the staff for their support and patience while I build an understanding of the school.

Prior to being at Teesdale Primary School, I was the Principal at Lethbridge Primary School. Teesdale and Lethbridge have worked in collaboration through various school improvements. Most recently, the two schools were named as finalists for the Victorian Education Excellence Awards in 2023 for our collaborative practice in Mathematics.

At Lethbridge Primary School, I was proud of the strong connections and relationships we built with families. I know that the same strength in family connection exists at Teesdale and I am very excited to be part of this to support learning and wellbeing.

Mother's Day Stall

Our Parent's Club will be visiting the school on Thursday to lead our Mother's Day Stall. Students will visit the stall with their class to purchase a gift. All of the gifts will be $5. Students who forget to bring their money on Thursday are still welcome to select a gift. These gifts will be put aside so that students can then make their payment on Friday at the the office and collect their gift.

Enjoy the rest of your week and take care,

Chelsey

Shoe Boxes for Science

Ms Moloney is seeking any spare shoes boxes that you may have lying around the house. The senior students will be needing many shoes boxes for a science project nearing the end of this term. If you have any shoe boxes that you are happy to donate, please drop them off to the Science/Art room before or after school.
