Thank you to those families in Year 4 who have filled in the document about their child receiving or not receiving their First Holy Eucharist this year. The aim is for acknowledgment letters to be sent out to families who have enrolled their child/ren next week.
Any Year 4 families who want their child to receive the Sacrament but have yet to enrol must do so A.S.A.P! Please use this link:
For families in Years 5 and 6 wishing for their child/ren to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist, please email me ataiacopino@olps.vic.edu.au to confirm your child's possibility of receiving the Sacrament.
As we begin our School Term in a Season of New Life through the Resurrected Christ, let us listen to these words from Pope Francis:
‘You can, you must try to seek God in every human life. Although the life of a person is a land full of thorns and weeds, there is always a space in which the good seed can grow. You have to trust God.’ (From A Big Heart Open to God: A Conversation with Pope Francis)
The word ‘shalom’ means ‘with God, all is right in the world’. How can we bring a sense of ‘shalom’ to others in our lives? Use the letters of the word to help you reflect.
S – Show forgiveness to others
H – Help others whenever you can
A – Adopt a hope-filled attitude to life
L – Love others as you want to be loved
O – Open your mind and heart to others
M – Make the Gospel message your own.
Important Dates for each Sacrament will be added closer to the times.
Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist - Year 4
Sacrament of Confirmation - Year 6
In the hustle and bustle of life, we must always remember that the Good Shepherd cares for us. The Shepherd watches over us and when we feel like we have lost our way, they call us by name and brings us back into their love.
Who is your Good Shepherd? Are you someone's Good Shepherd who calls them back when they are 'lost'?
God Bless,
Mr Angelo Iacopino
