God's Love and Care for All

Term 2, Week 1and 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

A warm welcome back to Term 2 to our students, families and staff. I hope you all enjoyed the Easter break and are ready to embrace our 11 week term with excitement and enthusiasm.

There is always lots to look forward to during a new school term. Many excursions and incursions have been planned, Mother’s day Breakfast and stall as well as our Mother’s Day mass on Friday 10th May. Our Year 4 students will prepare and celebrate their First Eucharist and our Year 6 students will be off to camp later in the term. The term will conclude with our mid year student reports and parent teacher conversations.

Throughout the term we will also be preparing for our Prep 2025 interviews and enrolment process, which is always an exciting time of the year meeting our new families.

Mothers Day: This year we are inviting all our mothers to our Mother's Day Breakfast  on either Tuesday 7th May (Romero/Kolbe) or Thursday 9th May (Teresa/Samaritan). Due to limited space the breakfast will be for mothers and school age children, unfortunately we will not be able to cater for toddlers due to our limited space. The cost will be $10.00 per adult ticket (part of which will be donated to the Olivia Newton John Breast Cancer Research) and student tickets are free.  Breakfast will start at 7:45- 8:40am on both days. Bookings to be made via CompassTix using this link:https://compasstix.com/e/5pjyzlw266

Mother’s Day Stall: If your child would like to purchase a gift, the Mothers  Day Stall will be operating on Friday 10th May. Cost of each gift is $5.00. Please bring money on the day. Students may have the opportunity to purchase another gift, once all children have purchased one.

We congratulate Mr Petruolo and Miss Cassar as they attended their graduation on Monday. Mr Petruolo for his official teaching degree graduation ceremony and Ms Cassar for completing her certificate in Literacy Intervention.

Thanks to Mrs B for organising the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra,  Jams in schools incursion.  On Wednesday, our students had the incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in this innovative music education initiative. Led by six talented MSO musicians and conductor, Karen Kyriakou, our students embarked on an enchanting exploration of orchestral music. Through interactive workshops, they delved into musical themes from Romeo and Juliet and compositional techniques , eagerly participating and even playing along with rhythm sticks! The enthusiasm was contagious as our students experienced the magic of orchestral performance firsthand. Their excitement and engagement were palpable, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated. We're immensely proud of our students' enthusiasm and involvement throughout this unforgettable experience. Moments like these remind us of the transformative power of music in education and inspire a lifelong love for the arts. Thank you to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for this incredible opportunity, and to all our students for their enthusiastic participation!

Tables for sale: We have recently purchased new tables for our Year 2-4 students so we are offering families an opportunity to purchase our old tables. If you are interested please contact the office  to organise payment and pick up. The cost will be $20:00 cash per table.
