House Cross Country

The weather last Wednesday for Year 3 to 6 House Cross Country was perfect for running. All our Year 3 to 6 students tried their very best when completing their circuits in beautiful Landcox Park. Thank you to all the teachers and parents involved in setting up and supporting this event.  Congratulations and a big thank you to Kirsten Travis for her thorough organisation and enthusiasm for ensuring the House Cross Country was a great success. Finally, a big congratulations to Hosking House for winning the overall event!

Fundraiser for Stride for Sue

As mentioned in last week’s newsletter the money received from the Book Sale and Bush Dance was donated to ‘Stride for Sue’ as part of the Mother’s Day Classic.  The funds raised from this event go to both the Breast and Ovarian Cancer Foundations. ‘Stride for Sue’ is in memory of our much loved and dearly missed colleague, Sue Grant. Her husband, Andrew has asked me to pass on his families sincerest thanks to the Gardenvale community for their “unbelievable support”! If anyone would like to donate to ‘Stride for Sue’ here is the link –

Walkathon

Our School Walkathon is being held on Wednesday 1st May from 9.00 – 10.30am. Our Walkathon is always a lovely school event with many parents and grandparents joining us at Landcox Park to cheer on the children.  Our students took home their Sponsorship Forms late last term. If the form has been misplaced, we have spare forms at each office.  This is a major fundraiser for our school, and we are always so grateful for the support we receive for this event!

2025 Preps

Believe it or not we are well underway with our Prep enrolments for 2025. It is important for us to have a clear picture of the number of our current families with a little one starting school at Gardenvale PS next year. Please collect an enrolment form from the Junior Campus office or download one from our website. We would really appreciate if completed forms could be returned to the Junior Campus Office as soon as possible.

Have an enjoyable week,

Janine Hall
