Scholastic Book Club

We have had our two Book Club issues for Term 1. Thanks to those parents who have supported us by buying items from the catalogues. It has earned us $135 in rewards to spend on books for our Library.

Overdue Books

As we approach the end of term we are asking students and families to think about finding their overdue books to return. We are still looking for some books from 2023 and appreciate any assistance we can have in getting these books back for others to read.

Gaming Display

We have had some great displays of books up already this year. The most recent has been books about gaming. Grabbing students' attention through their interests will hopefully lead to more reading which we know is so beneficial to their learning.

Odd Sock Sid

Our book for checking our learning this term in Years 1 and 2 is Odd Sock Sid by Heidi Cooper Smith.

Sid the Octopus loves his sets of colourful matching socks. Then one day a sock goes missing, then two, three, four.

He is determined to hunt down the culprits. When he finds his socks the mice thieves have made a nest with them and he is very sad.

Through his tears he realises he can decide to wear odd socks. Students have loved looking at the facial expressions to pick up on the emotions Sid feels about his socks.
