Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Lent commenced with our Ash Wednesday Liturgy in the hall yesterday. Thank you to Mrs Winduss as our RE Leader for preparing this and for staff and students who participated to ensure it was the prayerful time that we join together for each year. Lent of course is the season leading up to Easter Sunday. Staff and students received crosses on their foreheads in the sign of a cross. Ashes have been used for centuries in this way as a symbol of humility, penance and our commitment to becoming better in our attitudes, values and actions.

Monday 26th February at 9.30am is our first OPEN MORNING for prospective 2025 Foundation enrolments. These tours are aimed at new parents wanting to join our school community for the 2025 year. Please let anyone you know who may be considering our school for their child/ren to ring the office for further details. We have already had strong expression of interest for our upcoming tours. It is great to know that so many local families want to join our community.

A reminder that we will hold our Parent-Teacher meetings for Years 1-6 on the afternoons of Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th February between 3.40 and 6pm. Parents can meet with your child's class teacher on-site as we feel it is important that relationships are established face to face. You can book your 10 minute timeslot between 3.40-6.00pm at https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the event code z8bh8. The aim of these meetings is for you to share as much information about your child with the teacher, look at some potential goals and to discuss how your child has settled into their 2024 class.

Other dates to be aware of in the next month or so are:-

Year 5/6 Camp Information Night Wednesday 21st February 6.30pm

House Cross Country Friday 1st March

School Advisory Committee and AGM- Wednesday 6th March 6.30pm

Yr 5-6 Camp to Portsea Wednesday 13th March-Friday 15th March

Mrs Thomas will be leading the school with support from Mr Sullivan, Mrs Winduss and Mrs Chiodo between 15th February and 28th February as I will be on medical leave for this period.

A visit from our Foundation Classes.

May peace be with you,

Rod Shaw

Principal
