What's Been Happening in Prep

What a wonderful start to school our Prep students have had! We are all so impressed with our newest students and how well they have adapted to school life! 

Throughout this term the students have been adjusting to school, learning new routines and of course getting to know their teachers and classmates. 

As part of getting to know each other, the students have enjoyed exploring and sharing things about themselves and finding out about their friends’ likes and dislikes. We have discovered that all families are different, but have common aspects such as having the same cultural backgrounds and enjoying time with each other. Students have also explored the different family dynamics, such as having older or younger siblings, or no siblings at all! The students are learning to name and describe our family members as best as we can and have gained confidence in speaking and sharing ideas in front of the class.

In Mathematics, we have been learning about patterns. Students have been able to recognise the recurring rules in patterns in order to complete them. The students were engaged and excited to craft a fish with their own pattern design.
