CONFERENCE 1 SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Last Monday 17 students represented St Aidan’s had at the Conference 1 Swimming Championships. As always our students represented the school with enthusiasm, respect and great sportsmanship. We are beyond proud of each and every student who swam. Thank you to Mrs Harris who attended the day and supervised the students. Please see below for some very exciting results.

 

 

REPRESENTATIVE SPORT

Congratulations to St Aidan’s Sporting Superstars! 

 

Phillip (6) - Phillip in year 6 has been successful in his participation in the Sydney Catholic Schools Conference 1 football (soccer) trials. He will now progress through to the next level. We are so proud of his efforts, teamwork and dedication. 

 

Niamh (5) - Niamh showed us what she was made of in the pool. Niamh has progressed to the next level for the 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly and the 200m Individual medley. This is an outstanding achievement. Congratulations Niamh, we are very proud of you. 

 

Grace (4) - Grace demonstrated her talents in the pool progressing through to the next level for the 50m freestyle. Congratulations Grace, we are very proud of you. 

 

Alice (6)Olive (6)Charlotte C (6) and Niamh (5) - These students participated in the Conference 1 Swimming Championships on Monday. They swam in the Senior 4 x 50m relay. They have been successful and will now progress through to the next level. Again we are so proud of them. Team work makes the dream work. 

 

St Aidan’s Sports Wall of Fame in the school entry is filling up quickly this year! 

 

CROSS COUNTRY

A reminder that St Aidan’s will be holding the Cross Country trials for 2024 at Latham Park on Tuesday 12th of March. All students who are participating in these trials are to be dropped at Latham Park NO LATER THAN 8AM as races will commence at 8:15am. Students are reminded that this is a running event. If the students are unable to complete their whole course running they will be unable to qualify. Students are to wear their sports uniform. At the conclusion of these trials all students will walk back to school under the supervision of a teacher. Please ensure your child brings the following: 

  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Plenty of water
  • Their school bag with their lunch box

SWIMMING CARNIVAL

The St Aidan's Swimming Carnival will be held on Thursday 28th March at Des Renford Leisure Centre Maroubra (Jersey Rd & Robey Street, Maroubra NSW 2035)

 

Students will travel via bus from St Aidan's to Des Renford Leisure Centre Maroubra. Buses will depart school at 9 am sharp. As this is a school day all children are required to attend.

 

Students are able to be picked up from the venue at the conclusion of the carnival, approximately 1:30pm. A Compass alert will be sent out on the day. All students are to stay until the end of the carnival when we present the winning team with the trophy.

 

Students who do not get picked up from the venue will travel back to school via bus. A separate event will be sent in regards to this. Please ensure you select either attending or decline the event. This will ensure we book return buses accordingly.

 

What to wear: Students are to come to school dressed in their swimming costume, sports shoes and sport uniform. If they wish to wear a coloured t-shirt in their house colour they may. Students are able to bring slide on shoes and change into them at the pool. A reminder that no coloured hair spray, coloured zinc or crepe paper is allowed at the venue.

 

What to bring:

A small bag with the following items in it.

- Towel

- Swimming Cap

- Goggles

- Slide on shoes

- Recess and Lunch

- Water bottle
