From the Office

From our Acting Principal
It has been a joy to witness another great fortnight of learning here at Raywood PS. We are looking forward to some extra-curricular activities coming up in the next couple of weeks and also to opportunities to welcome community into our school during Education Week which is occurring next week.
Education Week – Next Week!
Next week our school will celebrate Education Week, this year’s theme Celebration of Cultures highlights the diversity of our communities and the importance of every child feeling safe and welcome at school. We look forward to welcoming community into our learning spaces next week and look forward to the Raywood Community Playgroup joining us on Monday morning for some fun literacy activities along with celebrating Grandparents Day next Friday morning. Our enrolment process for Prep students beginning school in 2026 is now underway, please contact our school if you are interested in learning more about how our school may suit your child and to organise a personalised tour of our learning spaces.
Grade 3-6 Winter Sports
Tomorrow our Grade 3-6 students will be heading over to Colbinabbin to participate in the Cluster Winter Sports Day. Students have chosen their sport out of Football, Netball and Soccer and will join with kids from our Campaspe Cluster to form teams and enjoy playing their sport. Students will depart school at approx. 11am for a 12pm arrival at Colbinabbin and return to school before the end of the day. Please ensure your child has enough snacks, water and appropriate clothing for their activity.
Walk Safely To School Day
On Friday we will be holding our Annual Walk to School Day and meeting at the Speke St bus stop at 8.30am to walk up to school. Walk Safely to School Day aims to raise awareness of the health, road safety, transport and environment benefits of regular walking, particularly to and from school. Families and younger siblings are very welcome to join us for the wander up to school on Friday morning.
Kyabram Fauna Park Excursion
Connecting in with our learning this term about Native Australian Animals and Animal Adaptations, we will be taking a Whole School Excursion to the Kyabram Fauna Park on Friday 6th June. The cost of this excursion will be subsidised by the school and the cost to families will be $30 per child. Families may wish to use their student’s School Saving Bonus to pay for this excursion, or alternatively can make a cash payment or bank transfer as normal. Permission forms will be available on UEducateUs shortly.
Thanks Everyone,
James Sait
School Saving Bonus reminder and allocation to school activities
The Victorian Government is delivering the School Saving Bonus (SSB) – a one-off support of $400 for eligible government school students from Prep to Year 12 in 2025.
The SSB can be used for uniforms and textbooks until Monday 30 June 2025.
Any funds remaining after 30 June 2025, including online voucher amounts that have not been redeemed, will become a credit to use on school activities. However, the credit will not be available on your family account at our school until late July. To use any remaining SSB funds to cover the cost of school activities in July, please refer to the SSB online system and allocate the funds to school activities before 30 June 2025. To learn more about the SSB online system, download the step-by-step System guide for parents and carers (DOCX, 945KB) or watch this School Saving Bonus video. System guide translations are also available in 14 languages.

News from Bree in the office
Student Absences
This is a friendly reminder to kindly inform the school if your child will be absent. You can do this by calling the school directly or by using the UEducateUs platform. Notifying us promptly allows us to accurately mark the attendance roll and ensures that we are aware of your child’s whereabouts for their safety. Thank you for your cooperation!
Pie Warmer Lunches
We are pleased to announce that our pie warmer will be operational on all school days during Terms 2 and 3. Students are encouraged to bring a variety of items that can be heated, ensuring these are wrapped in foil or placed in a foil container to ensure safety and efficiency (please refrain from using plastic or metal cans, as they cannot be heated in the pie warmer).
In previous years, we have successfully heated a diverse range of delicious options, including pastries, toasted sandwiches, pasta and rice dishes, leftover roast dinners, and even pizza. We would like to emphasize the importance of making nutritious food choices; therefore, we kindly request that all meals sent to school reflect healthy options.
Thank you, Bree.
