Be Kind, Be safe, Be respectful, Be responsible, Be resilient, Be ready
Dear Parents and Carers,
Expressing thanks is one of the simplest yet most powerful things we can do. Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have, fostering contentment and deeper connections with others. It strengthens relationships, inspires generosity, and even enhances our own well-being—studies show that gratitude can boost happiness and reduce stress.
When we take the time to appreciate others, we acknowledge their kindness, effort, or presence in our lives, making them feel valued. Whether it’s thanking a friend, recognizing a leader, or simply appreciating the beauty around us, gratitude reminds us we are not alone and that the world is full of blessings.
While the Gospels don’t frequently record Jesus thanking individuals directly, they do show Him expressing gratitude to God in several key moments. Here are a few instances:
- Feeding the 5,000 – Before multiplying the loaves and fish, Jesus gave thanks to God (John 6:11).
- Raising Lazarus – Before calling Lazarus out of the tomb, Jesus thanked God for hearing His prayer (John 11:41-42).
- The Last Supper – Jesus gave thanks before sharing the bread and wine with His disciples (Matthew 26:26-27).
- Praising Childlike Faith – Jesus thanked God for revealing truth to those with childlike faith rather than the wise and learned (Luke 10:21).
These moments highlight Jesus’ deep gratitude toward God, even in challenging circumstances.
With this in mind, I would like to thank everyone for the big week we have had-
