ANZAC Day Assembly 

It was once again a very special ANZAC assembly at MPPS! A huge thank you to Sue and the student leaders for their careful and considered planning. It was terrific to have our kinder buddies in attendance and thank you to all of the families who were able to join us. Special thank you to Wing Commander Matthew Shelley (father of former students Oliver and Oscar), Brent (current father of Elling) and Krishna (from our MPPS Orchestra) for playing such an important role. 

Those who attended the event can attest also to the high level of poetry put together by some of our senior students. Their words were very moving and reflected the depth of the learning happening across the classrooms in the lead up to the day. Congratulations to the teaching staff for their planning and facilitation. 

Parents Battle of the Bands

The Annual Parents Battle on the Bands is in 3 weeks and I’m proud to say that The Middle Sparks are competing again! Thanks to all of the band members for ‘flying the MPPS flag’.

The battle is held just down the road at St Kilda's iconic Prince Bandroom, with 10 local primary schools participating, over two nights. Our very own Middle Sparks parents band will be performing on Thursday 15 May, second in the line up, on at 8.30.

Parents Battle Of The Bands: Southside 1

All funds raised go straight back to supporting performing arts and music education at the schools. Importantly, proceeds are shared based on the number of tickets each school sells—so the more tickets our community buys, the more MPPS benefits!

Last year our MPPS representation was down a bit so this year we hope to rectify that. It really is a super entertaining night and really worth the effort to get a big group together and head down. All of the bands spend a whole year putting together songs, costumes and choreography which makes for so much fun.
