UNIT OF WORK
Animals and Their Habitats/ Social and Emotional Learning
This term, students will be learning about animals and their habitats as part of the science curriculum. Students will learn about animal groups all across the world (such as in deserts and the arctic) and different ways we can classify animals into groups. They will observe how living things have their needs met in the places they live (in their habitats).
Students will learn facts and write information about animals and what they need to survive. To culminate this unit, students will be creating a diorama of an animal and its habitat, and we will be inviting parents in to see our amazing work so keep your eyes on compass for an invite to the biggest event in Term 2!
In We will continue to work through the Resilience, Rights, and Respectful Relationships Program (RRRR). This program supports schools and early childhood settings in promoting and modelling respect, positive attitudes, and behaviours. It teaches our children how to build healthy relationships, resilience, and confidence.
Using the RRRR Program and with support from Open Parachute and Zones of Regulations, we aim to help build positive social interactions across our class and the whole school community.
