NUMERACY

This term, the Year 1 classes will continue to follow the Explicit Maths Program (EMP) to guide their daily numeracy lessons. EMP is a high-quality, evidence-informed program that emphasises the explicit teaching of mathematical concepts. Students will continue to develope their number fact fluency such as partitioning numbers up to 120.

Meanwhile, the Year 2 classes will continue working with the Ochre scope and sequence, another curriculum-aligned and evidence-based program. Their learning will include daily reviews of previous concepts, development of fluency skills, and regular assessments to monitor progress. Students will focus on strengthening their understanding of place value, addition and subtraction, as well as concepts related to length, mass, and capacity.
