From Our Students

Foundation
Our Foundies went on their first excursion to the Zoo this month! They had so much fun looking at and learning all about the animals! It was great to see them demonstrating our school values, Excellence, Resilience and Respect from the bus ride, to walking around the Zoo!
Our Foundation students held a Mothers Day afternoon tea to celebrate all the wonderful Mums, Nan's, Carers and Special People in their lives. It was beautiful to see everyone together playing games, reading books and having a great time. Our Foundies were also able to give all the things they carefully made for their Mums and Special people!
Here are some pictures from the afternoon:
Junior School
Our Junior School went on an excursion to the Melbourne Museum this month! They got to see the infamous Phar Lap, and see Dinosaur skeletons which they loved! Our students participated in 'Grandma's Toy Box', which was a favourite all around because, toys would appear out of a Minecraft toy chest!
Another fan favourite was the ginormous Dinosaur that had little machines to tell you all about it! Our students also enjoyed the rainforest section where the students could play in the fake puddles on the floor!
Middle School
Our Middle School students went to the Zoo with the Foundies! They were immersed in a Features, Life Cycles and Environment Learning Program, where students developed their understanding of dependancy between living things and the environment.
Our Students loved this program because they got to be little scientists and go around the Zoo observing the world around them! It was great to see them have so much fun!
Some of our students favourite animals at the Zoo were the Red Pandas and the Snow Leopards.
Senior School
Earlier this month our Senior school students went on a week long camp to Camp Coolamatong. It has been so great to hear about all the stories and activities they did! They went on a boat ride, completed a Low Ropes course, did Combat Archery, Raft Building, Canoeing, Bike Rides, and Bush Cooking.
Axl said that his favourite part was the boat ride because they got to go to different places and try new things! He said his biggest challenge was the game where they had to dig a hole without it getting filled, and that him and his group tried all different strategies to make it work but they were still proud on themselves!
Natahlia said her favourite part was the rope swing because it went really high, she also loved combat archery. Canoeing was a challenge for her but she still gave a it a go and had fun. Natahlia also said one of the trivia questions was super tricky - having to name all of the seven dwarfs.
Taylor's favourite activity was the adventure race, and it was up a big hill which lots of people fell and slid back down! Her most challenging activity was canoeing because it was really cold!
It is so awesome to hear about all the amazing things they got to experience and all the memories made.
Connections Update
This term has seen a new group of students participating in KPS' Connections program. We are absolutely loving the things they are doing around the school, the grounds are looking incredible! From the mulching, to the hedging, to creating sculptures from clay to put together a fairy garden.
Our Junior students have also begun the Connections program on a Thursday, and they are having such a great time, learning and developing new skills and seeing them take pride in the school grounds has been incredible!
