Student Empowerment

This term in Student Empowerment, students across all year levels have been exploring two important topics: help-seeking and positive coping. These skills are vital for building resilience, wellbeing, and a strong sense of community at school.
Students have been learning when and how to ask for help, and how to use a range of positive strategies to cope with everyday challenges. Through engaging discussions, reflections, and role plays, they are becoming more confident in understanding their emotions and supporting themselves and others. These role plays have been a great way for students to practise real-life scenarios in a safe and supportive environment.
We’ve also held some fantastic Student Voice workshops, where students shared their ideas and insights about our school values, and how we can continue to shape a positive school culture. Their input is helping guide some exciting proposed updates to our School Wide Positive Behaviour Supports (SWPBS) and rewards systems.
It’s been inspiring to see students actively involved in shaping the kind of school they want to be part of—safe, respectful, and inclusive for all.
In addition, our School and Vice School captains are working on some amazing collaborative projects with the School Captains from Carrum Downs Secondary College. It's a great opportunity for leadership development and community connection. Keep an eye out for updates on their progress in upcoming newsletters!
