Term 2 has already been filled with exciting and meaningful events, including ANZAC Day, the Whole School Cross Country, the Election Day BBQ and cake stall, the Mother’s Day stall, and our Education Week Open Day. These events have been a great success thanks to the incredible support and involvement of our parent and friends community. It truly takes a team effort, and we are so appreciative of your partnership in making these experiences possible for our students.
Election Day BBQ and Cake stall
Election Day provided us with beautiful weather and a wonderful opportunity to engage with our local community. Although our polling booth experienced a steady but quieter flow of voters, the atmosphere was vibrant with many visitors stopping by to purchase a democracy sausage, an egg and bacon roll, or a sweet treat from our cake stall.
We extend our sincere thanks to all those who contributed—whether by baking, volunteering their time, assisting with setup, cooking, selling, or packing down at the end of the day. Your generosity and community spirit were truly appreciated.
We are pleased to announce that the event raised a total profit of $2,040, which will be added to our fundraising efforts to support future initiatives at the school.
Mother’s Day Stall – Celebrating the Special Role of Mums
Each year, our Mother’s Day Stall is a much-loved tradition in our school community—not just an event, but a heartfelt opportunity for children to celebrate the important women in their lives. More than a fundraiser, the stall is a social and sentimental occasion, giving students the chance to thoughtfully choose a small gift to show their love and appreciation.
Mothers, grandmothers, and maternal figures play an invaluable role in nurturing, guiding, and supporting our children every day. This event serves as a small but meaningful way for students to say thank you and recognise all that these remarkable women do.
Special thanks go to Tanja and Erin for their time and care in setting up the stall the day before, ensuring that all items were beautifully displayed and priced with children’s budgets in mind. Their thoughtful preparation helped create a positive and joyful experience for everyone involved. And thank you again to all the parents who assisted on the day
Although the stall is not run as a profit-making event, we are pleased to share that it raised $1,600, which will be added to our ongoing fundraising efforts.
Education Week & Open Day
As part of Education Week, we were delighted to host our Open Day yesterday—and what a wonderful day it was! We had a fantastic turnout of families, and it was heartwarming to see so many children proudly sharing their learning and classroom experiences with parents, carers, and friends.
The day began with a tour for several prospective families, who were thoroughly impressed by the welcoming atmosphere, vibrant learning spaces, and the opportunities our school provides. Their positive feedback was a wonderful reflection of our dedicated staff and engaged student community.
One of the highlights of the day was the series of student performances in the BER building, which were both entertaining and a true showcase of our students’ talents. The Art Room and STEM Room were buzzing with excitement as families immersed themselves in hands-on activities, creative projects, and interactive displays. Meanwhile, the skill challenges organised by Mr Rodger proved to be a big hit with students and adults alike—offering fun, teamwork, and a bit of healthy competition.
Thank you to all the staff, students, and families who helped make our Open Day such a success. It was a true celebration of learning, community, and the vibrant spirit of our school.
School Production – Term 3: “Lights, Camera, Action!”
Next term, we are excited to present our whole school production, “Lights, Camera, Action!” Peter Reiter and Anthea Keep have been working hard behind the scenes to develop the script and are collaborating with Jess from STOMP to bring the music and choreography to life.
Auditions for main roles are now underway, and students had their first session with Jess on Tuesday, 13th May. It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and energy as they begin this exciting journey.
This year’s production is designed in an Academy Awards-style format, giving students a unique opportunity to showcase their talents across different performing arts disciplines. Each year level will be presenting a segment inspired by a popular film:
A dedicated staff production team is overseeing various elements of the event, including staging, costumes, and props. Once costume and prop requirements are finalised, we will be seeking support from our wonderful parent community to help bring this production to life.
Thank you in advance for your enthusiasm and involvement—it’s shaping up to be a show to remember!
